All-Purpose and Nutty Summer Dressings

Discover three rich dressings that pair perfectly with a variety of dishes such as vegetables, mushrooms, chicken, tofu, rice cakes, noodles, wontons, and dumplings.

1. DAN DAN NOODLE STYLE DRESSING

Ingredients - 2 Servings

Instruction

Mix all ingredients. Garnish with chopped scallions or cilantro (optional).


This dressing is perfect for noodles, rice cakes, cabbage, and chicken.


2. ALL-PURPOSE DRESSING

Ingredients - 2 Servings

  • 1 Tbsp light soy sauce

  • 1 Tbsp hoisin sauce

  • 1 ½ tbsp dark vinegar (Zhengjiang/Chinkiang vinegar)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 2 cloves of minced garlic

  • 1 scallion, finely chopped

  • 1 ½ Tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Mix all ingredients. Add chili flakes or chili sauce for an extra kick (optional).


This dressing is perfect for cucumber, radish, noodles, dumplings, wood ear (black fungus), okra, and tofu.


3. PEANUT DRESSING

Ingredients - 2 to 3 Servings

  • 1 Tbsp peanut butter

  • ½ Tbsp dark vinegar (Zhengjiang/Chinkiang vinegar)

  • ½ Tbsp light soy sauce

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cloves of minced garlic

  • ½ tsp sesame seeds

  • 2 Tbsp water

Instructions

Mix all ingredients. Garnish with chopped scallions or cilantro (optional).


This dressing is perfect for noodles, wontons, dumplings, lettuce, and eggplant.
