May is AAPI Heritage Month. AAPI stands for Asian American and Pacific Islander. Let's spend some time learning about AAPI history and recognize the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

My contribution is to introduce my culture through food to the US. A lot of the recipes in my cooking class are either based on my family recipes or are recreated from my memories of living in China.

Through my cooking classes and my cookbook, I get to share stories about the history of Chinese food and the connections made between people and the things we eat. I am honored to pass along an appreciation for regional Chinese cuisine. The wisdom my ancestors possessed to turn humble ingredients into comforting meals that fed generations after generations is something I greatly admire.

I hope my cooking classes can 1) bring comfort to people with whom I might share a similar culture; 2) allow adventurers, who used to live in China, to bring back their own good memories with food; 3) provide insight to foodies who want to experiment with cooking authentic Chinese food; 4) inspire curious eaters who love to try new things.
